Hello all, I am new to Alfresco and was wondering if it is possible to make fancyboxes or something similar?

Assuming you are talking about fancybox and not a "fancy" box you can do this. You might want to take a look at fme's gallery plus add-on. If it doesn't meet your needs, you could follow the same pattern to implement your own solution using fancybox.
