Hi,
may you can post more details, at first your alfresco-global.properties. As I know, you can´t access SSP with MS-Office and another port than 443. Any way, I will suggest you, to configure a Apache with HTTPS. Than it should work.
EDIT: Make sure, that you have deployed the SSP-AMP. May you post also your logs.
