Evaluating Alfresco RM for adoption, automatical record capture.

Hi,
I'm evaluating feasibility for implementation or adoption of a Record Manager . Our objective is have a secure archive for a big repository. It is formed only of one file format (pdf), aggregated in folders by clients. The idea is to store each file just after the last step of its workflow, so the very last step would be the archiving. In that way, the priority for us is to have some kind of functionality (like an API) that can be consumed by our system with minimum/without human intervention. Therefore, except for the initial migration, we desire not human intervention in the daily and regular archiving, i. e. thousands of pdf's by day.

Nevertheless, in the case that this is not possible, we wish to consider and compare other kind of solutions too, even stand alone products with graphic interface, etc.

We are looking forward for any recommendation or help, that would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

JOM.

This is possible with Alfresco's embedded Activiti workflow engine, but the easiest way to meet these goals is to use the Alfresco Records Management module and configure a disposition schedule that meets your needs.

Here is a playlist of demo videos on YouTube:

And here is the official documentation:

http://docs.alfresco.com/rm2.2/concepts/welcome-rm.html

Alfresco supports a lot of ways to get the content in, such as FTP, SMTP, CIFS, or REST (CMIS).

But the best part of Alfresco is when it is used as a collaboration tool in addition to the records archive. Alfresco's in-place records management makes it easy to manage your regular work, and then file the records at the correct time.

I did'n understand if it is possible for the system to automatically capture (to record) ours pdf's while they are being generated.
what standarts/specifications (Moreq, Dod) does the RM certify?
so is it mandatory to get installed Alfresco One besides Alfresco RM?
how i can get the prices of the RM?

Thanks very much!

It is possible for Alfresco to automatically create records from PDFs that are generated in the system or imported into the system. Alfresco can also integrate with document capture systems like Kofax and Ephesoft to import PDFs of scanned physical documents.

The Alfresco RM module has been certified against the US DoD 5015.2 specification. I believe that we are in the process of getting certified against MoReq, but I don't know where exactly we are in that process. Our records management module is flexible enough to be configured in a way that complies with various standards around the globe.

If you message me your business contact details, I can have someone from our sales team contact you to discuss pricing and answer any other questions you have.
