Hi,

All of a sudden today I cannot add content to a space where I have been adding content for weeks now.  I get the following error, and I have no rules set and I am getting this error with the admin logged on?

Error  Please correct the errors below then click OK.

    * A system error happened during the operation: Transaction didn't commit: A value for the mandatory parameter text has not been set on the rule item mail

Thanks,
Bradley

Fixed.

Stumped and baffled. I was just clicking away and I noticed a (1) in the space indicating a rule.  I did not have any rules set, so I checked it and it had a rule named "document" and when I clicked the rule I got the following error:

java.lang.ClassCastException: org.alfresco.web.bean.spaces.CreateSpaceWizard

So I deleted it and can now add content… strange.  I wonder how this rule appeared?  Is there anyway of auditing of rule creation?  The rule said it was created today, is there a way to find out who created it?

Regards,
Bradley

Depending on what version you are running yes rule creation is auditable.

You need to have 1.4 or later. You also need to have enabled auditing, it's off by default.

Find auditConfig.xml and look at the root Audit element, there is an enabled attribute, set that to true and restart the server to enable auditing. But of course this isn't going to help you as it's already happened!

What you could do if the rule was is still present is to use the Node Browser in the admin console to browse to the space where the rule is. You should then see a system node representing the rule, look at the properties of that node and you should be able to see the creator.
