Email Notifications on Upload of a File

Hi,

I would like to setup alfresco in way that a group or user receive's email notifications on any upload or changes made in the space. Please help me to configure it, I checked other posts but didnt find helpful.

A simple way to do this is to define a rule in the root folder of the space.

• Go to: Repository > Sites


• Select "Manage Rules" in the actions menu of the site you want.


• Select "Create Rules".


• Pick a name for your rule, and in the "Perform Action" select "Send email". Define your message and the receivers.


• Check the checkbox "Rule applies to subfolders".

Notice that you must configure your SMTP server configuration first in alfresco-global.properties so Alfresco can send emails.

Thank you for the quick response. However when i click on create rule. I get 4 step options:

1st Step(Conditions):    Select Condition:
                                    Click to set values and add to list.

2. (Actions)
3.(Detials)
4.(Summary).

I didnt find any section to add name for the rule.

I'm using Alfresco Community Edition.

Oh you must be using Alfresco Explorer interface (http://<server>:8080/alfresco), I supposed you were using Share (http://<server>:8080/share).

In step 3 (Details), you will be asked to enter a Title for your rule.
Just follow the wizard.
