Hi there,
I try to get Activiti Designer running under Windows XP SP3.

I use now Eclipse Basic 3.6.1 (as the use of 3.6.2 is discouraged in this forum).
1.) I started activiti in the activiti5.3/setup directory by ant demo.start
2..) copied the Activiti Plugins intothe Plugins directory
3.) imported the activiti examples from the activiti5.3/workspace into eclipse
4.) expanded the examples by running the activiti-engine-examples build.xml as "ant-script" (I found this
only working properly, if the H2 database was running (see 1.)))
5.) I update Actíviti Designer to Version 5.4.4

6.) I go to the activiti-engine-examples.source.main.process.adhoc.expense-process.bpmn20.xml and open it
with activiti-diagram-editor and get the "Could not open the editor"

What is going wrong ? Are files not expanded ? Do I have the wrong plugins ? Is the bug in eclipse or in the designer ? What should I do ?

Apart from that, I like the project a lot !

Hi again,
I looked more closely, and here is what I found:
Each time I invoke the diagram editor (= Activiti Designer) the badly missing *.activiti file
is created in a completely different directory from where he ought to be.

He is here:
src/main/resources/diagrams
when I manually copy him to the src\main\process\org.activiti.examples.<xxx> directory and
invoke the diagram editor again, everything is allright !

How does he (the *.activiti file)  get there in the first place ?

Would that not be a fairly quick fix for activiti designer patch-release ?

Hi,

In the current release we expect the bpmn20.xml file to be in the src/main/resources/diagrams directory.
But you are absolutely right that your use case should be supported as well.
I'll see if I can fix this easily.
