duplicate files

Is there any way to disallow duplicate file names (in the same space) inside of Alfresco?

Or, is there any way to specify which duplicate folder to upload into via FTP?  It seems to always default to the first one it finds.

I have the same requirement. To prevent that users upload the same document in different folders I want to disallow duplicate file names in that space. Did you find a solution to it?

By default duplicate child name is not allowed,have you ever modified contentModel.xml file?
