Drag and Drop Advanced Search

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone already created his own extension on Alfresco for an advanced search possibilty besides the existing one?
Off course the already advanced search is really helpfull however I think that when we start adding more and more data to Alfresco, this search will not be enough.

I can't ask from my colleagues to search like TYPE:"my:contenttype" AND ASPECT:"my:aspect" etc. etc.
I was thinking of creating a webpage/webscript where users are able to create their own lucene search query.
By drag and drop or something with autocompletion.

They need to be able to combine all the metadata from Alfresco in 1 search statement i.e.
- I'm searching for a specific content type
     - Which is created between ….. and …..

OR
- I know category X is attached
     - and aspect Y or was it aspect Z

Kind regards,

Hello,

we have implemented a small query editor utility internally - nothing fancy / drag'n'droppy yet. We are currently working on an advanced search extension module which has this feature on its "planned" list albeit for a version further down the line. Priority for us is providing proper facet access for users and provide possibility to save a search and / or facet configuration for later reuse.

Regards
Axel

Hi Axel,

Thank you for your reply.
Sounds interesting, how does it work then or how are people able to use the editor?
Offcourse the drag and drop is not necessary however I want to be able to deliver a solution without educating my colleagues in lucene querys.

Kind regards,

Marcel
