Download the Alfresco-community edition from http://dl.alfresco.com/release/community/build-3370/alfresco-community-3.4.d.zip
Extract this to a convenient location and follow the install guides to put the share.war file into your Tomcat installation.

Cheers,

Sasquatch

First, thank you for answering my question.

I started dealing with Share a little while ago and I'm very lost. I downloaded the file you just sent me that I can not do the installation, I wonder in which file should I move after unzipping the file.

Thanks a lot man

You need to undersatand that Share requires Explorer (alfresco.war) to be installed and operational as well - Alfresco mention this in the Forum posting Readme and my testing would confirm this. I have just completed an Alfresco 3.4.d install into an existing Tomcat installation and while Share appeared to be working (login window showing), I had no actual login until the Explorer was running (required global-properties config). After that all was well.
One thing that I have noted is that some files are not included with the War file install. There's no alfresco.sh (or alfresco.bat for Windows) files to start/ stop/ restart Alfresco.

There's more usefull stuff in the Enterprise documentation - http://docs.alfresco.com/3.4/index.jsp The troubleshooting section in this is more extensive than the Community version.

With a Tomcat install you can get web gui for management at [ip address]:8080 and login provided you have modified /etc/tomcat6/tomcat-users.xml to add yourself as administrator. This web gui allows you to start/ stop/ restart, deploy and undeploy.

Hope this helps

Cheers,

Sasquatch

So, man, I'm still very lost in relation to Share, but
I installed Alfresco and can log in both the Explorer and Share. And after installing I started playing around with some files such as share-config.xml and I managed to make a change, it's just too complicated to make these changes and I just did a simple change.

I had already had a look at Alfresco's documentation and still could not understand very well.

Share file by running tomcat, it creates the folders on the share, but I still can not make changes and I can not log in, I believe it is because the database is not configured, since I can only access my Share by installation of Alfresco Community.

You gotta make a change? has created a new field?

Thanks guy
