Hello everyone,
I was wondering about the behavior of the Alfresco repository when I copy a file from a folder of a site to a folder of an other site. Does the copy function duplicate the file or does it just create a shortcut?
The problem I am trying to solve is this: I have a site which serves as a "library", which includes many legacy files. All the users can access the Document Library of this site and copy files to other sites (projects) as required. Will this lead to my database becoming very large eventually?

The database will grow by a tiny amount.

So just to be clear… You are saying that a copied document is simply linked to and the file is not duplicated on the server. I have the same scenario as OP, but so far when I've tested this, it appears like the document that I copied is completely duplicated.
