Does Activity Process Need Licence in Community Edition

I am new to Alfresco…

We are planning to use Alfresco in our new requirment, Kindly help me with the below queries.

1) Do we need to install Activity process for Alfresco inorder to perform workflow activities?
2) Do we have any free Activity process or only licenced version is available?
3) If only Licenced version please let us know the approx cost

Also, is there any other optional process we can use instead of Activity process.

Kindly provide the details.

No.   The community version of Activiti is already integrated and there is no license needed.

Hi,

I have installed alfresco 5.0 a version in 32 bit OS with windows 7 professional.

When I try to start the TOMCAT server it automatically stops and when I check the activity log it gives the below error,

Exit code: 1
Stdout:

Stderr:
Unable to start tomcat

please find below the content in the log files

Hi chandravd,

How much free RAM Memory is available before you start Alfresco?

Alfresco bundle could consume more than 2 GB of RAM. I don't know if on version 5.0.a it needs to consume even more RAM?

Also, does your operating system is 32 bits?

Yes we are using 32 bits OS and the installed ram is 4GB in which 3.46 can be used it says.

The problem is that a 32 bits system can use a maximun of 4 GB, but Java on 32bits and windows systems, needs to use contiguos memory for it, which may not be available.

Alfresco will consume RAM that can't be allocated by the operating system.

Solutions:

* Use a 64bits system and spread easily
* Use Linux but keeping the 4Gb maximum limit

Does we need to install any specific addon or anything for workflow activity process. does this process need licence for the version alfresco 4.2.f?
