Document types for Full text index?

What document types are supported for full text indexing?  Is there a list somewhere?  I uploaded some openoffice docs and they are not content searchable whereas MS word docs are.  I really need to enable this functionality.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi,

There isn't a comprehensive list anywhere at the moment.  I'll add one to the WIKI and update this thread.

In the meantime:

If you have the OpenOffice server running, then most Open Office documents will be indexed.  There have been additions to the transformations recently (http://www.alfresco.org/jira/browse/AR-345), but this is not an exhaustive list.

The distribution READMEs have details on how to start the server, but it can also be found on the WIKI: Configuring Open Office

If you have the OO server running and there is a particular type of document that doesn't get indexed, then that would still be an issue.

Regards

Thanks for the prompt reply. I don't have the OpenOffice server running but I'll install it tomorrow.  Thanks for taking time to post the list, I am quite curious and will put it to good use.

Is the list available yet?  I installed openoffice and it's doc types are indexing properly now.  Also, I tried to index a WordPerfect doc to no avail.  Its properties show it as a octet stream in the web client; I assume this is a MIME type issue.  Is indexing of WordPerfect possible and how would I set it up?
