Doc Conversion

I was reading that Alfresco Share 3.3 supports document conversion like from Word to PDF.  I don't see how to do that in Share.  Or is this just something in the web content management piece?

Thanks.

I believe you have to write a custom action for the Share UI to do manual transformations.

It's strange, as I would have thought this would have been really handy to have out of the box. Can anyone from Alfresco shed any light on whether this is on the to-do list?

Document transformation is built into the alfresco repository and has been for ages.  There's no need to involve the UI (Explorer or Share) at all.

However if you want to do "manual transformations" then clearly there needs to be a little logic to present the right buttons to press.

Can you expand on this:

"However if you want to do "manual transformations" then clearly there needs to be a little logic to present the right buttons to press."

By a little logic do you mean developing a custom action in the Share UI? The manual transformation is exactly what I'm after - and I am about to embark on trying to write the custom action, but if this isn't the right way to do it please point me in the right direction!

Can anyone from Alfresco comment on this?

Reading this page - http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Content_Transformations it also says "The user can do it manually, or by invoking a rule on a space." - but again it doesn't go into it and is vague.
