disucssions around a piece of content

I noticed something today that seemed odd to me and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I created a discussion around a piece of content to see how Alfresco goes about this.  The discussion was created and can be seen through the Node Browser; however, when trying to access the discussion through WebDAV or CIFS, it throws a null pointer exception at me.

Has anyone seen this before, and also, could someone explain to me how Alfresco creates a discussion around a piece of content?  Does the piece of content become the forum space??

Hello,

Does the piece of content become the forum space??

In a sense, yes. The node hierarchy you get is :

[your-document] contains [fm:forum] that contains [fm:topic] that contains [fmSmiley Tongueost]
In other words your document carries children like a forums folder does.
(you can see it from the forumModel.xml file)

Your document cannot be both a file and a folder in CIFS -> crash
The "kind of" composite document model Alfresco uses for discussion is not stable yet in every repository operation.
