Disp Auth/Plan reusability ?

Hi,

(I'm going to post several different threads on the forums for RM ).

I have been searching for some of this information without luck and thinking about a few other items. I was hoping someone could shed some insight… ( Alf Community 3.2r2 with the matching RM setup.exe windows os )


Q) I was use to another ECM product for RM which you could craft a library for standard reusable templates/definitions for Disposition Authority and for Disposition plans. Is there a way to do this in ALF or is it per Category uniquely typed in each time?

Whilst behind the scenes when a disposal schedule is created it is treated as a separate object, there is nothing in the user interface which allows you to select a previously defined disposal schedule to attach to a new category.

Having said that while you are setting up a fileplan you can use the copy/paste functionality on a category which will copy all of the information, including the disposal schedule. You can then make any adjustments to the category just copied. Obviously doing this in a system when you have folders and records would also copy those as well.
