I have been posting a lot recently. I lurked for a very long time, 5 months, messing around with alfresco. Instead of hitting my head against a wall I thought I should start posting here. Hopefully it will be less painful
The problem:
When I create a shared workspace in Microsoft word 2003, a new sharepoint site is made. I want to disable this functionality. I will be creating all the sharepoint sites necessary. Is there a way to disable this auto generation of sites while still keeping the sharepoint service?
2nd bonus problem:
Also, in Vista, if I attempt to join "http://url.com:7070/alfresco", an error comes up saying "Invalid URL". This works just fine in Windows XP…
hi, as a workaround for your 2nd Bonus problem - when opening a document from a sharepoint site in Office, a webdav connection is usually created, when none exists beforehand. Maybe you can use that. Second idea, does that happen as well, when you do a "net use" command ?
I was able to connect to 'server.com:7070' with my webdav client but that didn't allow me to open the location in word. Also, I can't seem to use port numbers in 'net use'.
