I would like to announce the availabilty of an Alfresco extension to support digital signatures.
With this module, end-users are able to digitally sign a document very easily, direclty from the Alfresco web UI. Digital signatures can be used in the context of an Alfresco workflow, or as a simple action.
The implementation is based on standard certificate technologies for optimal security, and gives legal value to your documents.
if u know how to extend alfresco UI to write your own menu , signing a PDF file programatically is pretty simple. moreover you can place the signature anywhere in the document.

As Sourcesense (http://www.sourcesense.com) we're starting up an Open source project for supporting a generic open source stack of Digital signature on top of Alfresco. We're, too interested in such an extension. Is there still any progress on that project? What are the current functionalities? Is it bound to file formats or to a specific hardware or Alfresco version?
We are also interested in a electronic signature solution for current Alfresco versions. If someone has found an up-to-date solution, please tell us. Thanks in advance.
