Different views depending the users

This is probably consider a newbie question….
I need to reproduce an escenario, and I would like to know if it can be done in Share.

I have a massive folder with all the information, and I need some departements to see only some parts of it. This structure is because I have information in the massive folder that it´s the same for some places, but others don´t.

You can assign the permissions to the folder. If a user does not have access to it they won't see it.

I see your point, but since I can only put 4 differents roles, there will be only 4 different cases.
I think with more roles, the problem will be fixed. I was looking in this article http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Custom_Permissions_in_Share, it seems to be realy simple, but I can´t get it work with those steps. By the way I´m using Alfresco 3.3, maybe that is the issue, anyway, Thanks

I think the issue of custom roles is what I now need, since it´s different from the original post, I will post it in a new one. Thanks!
