Hi All,

I'm currently dicovering Alfresco WCM/CMS capabilities to be used across our application as web content management system. I have the following senario which I'm trying to solve with Alfresco:

- we have one web application which will be used for several clients we have.
- each client has their own content and style sheets/themes.
- each client recognized by a client_ID.

i want to publish the content based on the client_ID so each client will use the same web application with their own specific content.

how is that possible with alfresco?
please advise.
by the way we use velocity as our template engine.

Thanks,

hI there,
I have no clue actually, but I would say, you are talking about either having mutiple "websites / (sets of) Spaces", sharing most content (FTL Files , Templates, JSP etc. beeing content as well) or having one business logix, which filters content according to access rights, based on login & metadata.

Both approaches should be possible, judgeing from the white papers. For the first one, you may need an entry page logic, which forwards the users. though.

What I wonder in the moment, how separate do you want the clients to be. Are you talking various departsments in a company - a department personalisation, or do you need divided data stores etc due to legally indipendent entities (at least, in Germany that often requires data separation) - a hosted service (see separate forum on this site).

Let me know, what you learned, when some more knowledgeable reader answers Smiley Happy
