Difference between SETUP and WAR ... under Windows

Hi,

in the download section for the new 2.0 release I found this *.exe as setup version. What is the difference exactly? In which environnement does it run? … I know, the WAR version is for a application server (Tomcat) environnement, OK. Is there any information about this setup version?

You can run it on Windows. It has all required files (even Open Office) to make your life easy (if you are on Windows).

… but what means "run" ? … Windows stand-alone-application? … web application? … can I use a browser as client?

You 'run' the setup, and the setup installs tomcat, alfresco, java en openofffice on your hard drive. Then you start alfresco from the start menu, and point to localhost:8080/alfresco in your webbrowser, et voila.
