Hi, I am trying to install the activiti designer on mac os x within a eclipse eclipse-SDK-3.6.1-macosx-cocoa.tgz (as suggested)
but cannot see any Activity plugins, etc.

I have tried this with eclipse 3.6.1, 3.6.2 and 3.7.0, (all classic) and all with Java 1.5 resp. Java 1.6 but none of this environments
seem to work with the activity plugins (I should note that the installation from the update site was successful).

Did anyone of you got the plugins running under mac os x?

  regards, Chris

What exactly is the issue? Looks like it is installed. Do you get an error when doing New > Activiti Project? Or is that option unavailable?

Hi,

The Activiti Designer should run well on Eclipse 3.6.1 and 3.6.2 Classic.
3.7 is new and haven't been tested yet.
I see you're running an older mac osx version. Do you have a 64-bit system? Did you install the 64 bit Eclipse or the 32 bit?

Hi, this is the java version I am running:

[christophrettig@vie-nb-cre] /Applications/dev/java/ide > java -version
java version "1.6.0_24"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_24-b07-334-9M3326)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.1-b02-334, mixed mode)

Okay that's the exact same Java version I'm running on my mac.
Did you install Eclipse Classic 32 or 64 bit?

Hi, I am running eclipse 32 bit, should I switch to a 64bit version?

Yes please try to switch to 64 bit. Your Java runtime also seems to be 64 bit so that would fit.

Hi, using the following environment it works fine for me

- the 64bit version of eclipse helios (I am using eclipse helios SR2 for java developers)
- Java 1.6.0, 64bit (I am running 1.6.0_024 which is the latest version of Java on mac right now)

interesting that it needs a 64bit eclipse to run.

Many thanks to all for their help!!

Hi,

I find that strange also. I'm sure it worked with Windows 32 bit, so it should also work with Mac osx 32 bit in theory.
But I'm happy that this solved your installation problem.

Best regards,
