default views -- and wiki documentation

Is there a way to change the default views for Share components like Document Library, Links and Discussions?  Would like to default these to the simple view if possible – less space, even if it's somewhat more plain.  Couldn't find any settings on the web pages or in the config files, though.

And on an unrelated topic, the wiki: I can live with the functionality limitations (though it would be nice to have some more, like hierarchy) – but is there a document somewhere that describes valid markup syntax?  Have not been able to find one.  Of course googling for "wiki" isn't very helpful these days …

Thanks for any help on these.

Replying to my own post … but after some searching, I found that Alfresco is using MediaWiki as its engine, and that's familiar enough for me.  BUT the MediaWiki external link syntax is simply not working for me – with or without the square brackets, the URLs are displayed as plain text, and I tested with a number of different URLs.  Is there a setting to control this?  Or have I stumbled onto a bug?

Thanks …

The Share "wiki" (I know, I know) uses HTML as mark-up. Apart from internal links which use the MediaWiki [[pageName]] syntax.

Thanks,
Mike

Ah, I actually had to switch to editing HTML in order to create the link.

Is this something that's already in the plans to be improved?  I actually found the page in the (alfresco.com) Wiki that describes the usual

At least that one likely should be revised ...'...

We would like to improve the wiki so it at least had the option of using MediaWiki mark-up, yes. This is on the plan, but I'm not sure how high up the priority list it is at the moment, as we're still in the planning stage.

It always helps to raise this kind of enhancement request in JIRA, so that others might find at vote for the feature too.

Thanks,
Mike

Thanks – will add it to JIRA, then.
