Date Filed in Custom Type [Can it trigger a email ]

Hi
I have created Custom Types and properties, I have  few date field.
I am looking to make use of the custom  date field for buisness need.
How could I use custom date properties, to trigger a email notification when it reaches the date.
For ex I have an Expiry Date field, I should be getting a email notification when the expiry date is coming. Is it possible to do it.
What should I be doing to explore such a possiblity

Hi,

I don't know if I understand your problem but if you want to send some email notification based on some condition, you should write action which search for all documents which has passed expiry date. Then send proper notification with email action.

Your action should be executed with Alfresco job or scheduled actions. Checkout this articale http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Scheduled_Actions

I can see sampes code.
It can be usefull for a developer, in my case not wuch of programming background, but still trying out
