Hi,

Has anyone tested performance of different databases with Alfresco?
Default database in Alfresco 2.9B is HSQL. I see that the default database in Alfresco 3 is Derby. Is that any reason for that change? Is Derby faster or more reliable than HSQL? What do you think about the performance of MySQL?

Hi,

Alfresco is shipping as the default-DB a zero install DB to facilitate testing and evaluation (HSQL and Derby). None of these DBs are for production environments (reliability, performance, maintenance, backup&restore, user management, etc).
If you want to use Alfresco productive, you'll need to use a real DB.
