customizing the Alfresco Advanced Search

Although the Alfresco search functionality is great, and always accessible in the default web client via the title bar,
it takes a lot of clicks for the user to expand it to show all the available search fields.

I would like to customize it that the Advanced Search is present, open, as a dashboard element on my Alfresco document portal space,
customized to that only the most relevant search fields are displayed by default.

Where would I start with this task? (i.e. how do I embed the search dialogues in custom presentation template)

Although it's been a long time ago since you posted this query, I would like to ask if there was any progress with this matter.

I also searched but didn't found a way to do this. I didn't found where the search engine is reached, the bean is used and mapped.

It is high probably hard coded, somewhere…

I dont know if have any way to put Advanced Search as a dashboard on Alfresco.
What you could try is create a custom search with webscripts and put link of this page in custom dashlet.

If you find solution to resolve this question, please post because i think this will be great if we have for ours projects.
