Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to crate a guest user in alfresco?
One more query.
Suppose I am creating a user, then he is getting access to company home space. Is it possible only to show him guest home not the company home?

Regards

There is by default a guest user so you don't need to create one. Just grant the guest user access to the places you want them to have access to. You can set their home space to a specific place just like you do this for any other user.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.I mean to say, is there any way that we can create a new guest user.Meaning, If I am creating a user in Alfresco, by default he is getting company home access. I want to limit the user and to show only the guest home.

Please provide me the inputs. Thanks in advance

Ah sure - I get it.

There's no role called "guest" per se. What you will need to do is create a few groups. One group "CanViewCompanyHome" should be the set of users that you want to be getting access to teh company home area. Then you can have another group called "GuestCannotViewCompanyHome" then you can change the permissions on Company to such that the group that does not have access is not in the list. Then create a folder for the group that cannot use company home, uncheck "inherit permissions" and then set the permissions.

That should do the trick I think.

Hi Beren,
I thank you for yor reply. I have some confusions on your reply. As u said you can change the permissions on Company to such that the group that does not have access is not in the list. Then create a folder for the group that cannot use company home, uncheck "inherit permissions" and then set the permissions.

Can you pls make me understand this step. How to perfoem. I m a newbie to Alfresco getting many confusions.   :?

Thanks once again for your attention.
