Hi, I have a problem with my old server (solaris 10) and it will not start alfresco anymore. I am building a complete new server on suse linux 10.1 and want to get all the information from the old server to the new server.
I thought that finding and copying the mysql database would copy everything the only other thing to complicate it a little further is I am also upgrading version as well.
Basically what is the best way to go from one physical server that alfresco no longer boots on and I don't have time to fix to another working server?

Also I forgot to ask, what is the default database name for an alfresco server and is there a way to tell which database it is using if there are more than one installed. i.e. I have two mysql databases, only one is running but i want to make sure I backup the right one.
Is this process documented somewhere already?

Default schema name is 'alfresco'.
You need a copy of the DB dump plus the alf_data directory (which contains the lucene-indexes and the content structure).
Thanks,
Kevin
