Content classification by Site

Hi

This is probably a question to any Alfresco developers working on the Share client. I have downloaded the latest svn source and see there is some activity around exposing aspects and custom metadata within Share which I believe is in the roadmap for 2009.

For instance there is a file called aspects.get.config.xml, which is part of a new webscript in Explorer, that allows one to expose aspects to the Share client. I'd like to know whether those architecting this solution have had any thoughts around limiting these by Site? I imagine one can have a number of different Sites in Share with each Site having it's own taxonomy. Under such circumstances one would probably like to control aspects, content models and probably categories exposed to Share by Site name. Of course moving content between Sites would pose some challenges. Any thoughts?

Fairly quick answer on this one - there are no plans to implement any Site-based filtering of the Data Dictionary. That's not to say it can't be done, but due to the very dynamic nature of Sites and issues such as the one you pointed out, I can't see us adding it to the product.
