Hi,

My requirements are:-

I have my commercial product which will be deployed on all Client premises directly

Client will be charged per subscription basis.

I am using Alfresco CE 4.2.c and have requirement to customize the UI, Workflow, Custom Aspects & the Authoring piece.

Is it in terms with the License provided by CE (LGPL) or do I need to pay for EE?

I would need to install my Alfresco CE (packaged in my product) on multiple servers of clients' though my license would mention the use of Alfresco CE and will not be charging for the use of Alfresco but my own product.

I have gone through these related links as well:

but all have different queries at large. I will be contacting Alfresco helpline directly also; thought should ask the community first Smiley Happy

Any kind of insight is appreciated.

Regards,
Swan

Here is a link to the LGPLv3:

If you need help determining whether or not you are in compliance with the license, you should seek the advice of an attorney.

A couple of the things you have not mentioned which you need to clear up are:

1. Will you be distributing modified Alfresco software or will your clients obtain and install the software and you are installing extensions/customizations on top of that.

2. What license is your software being distributed under?

Thank you for the reply Jeff.
I have gone through the Licensing part and finally after lot internal discussions I am good with License issue now. I will not be modifying any binaries shipped with Alfresco but would use the same to create my own portal et al.
Got lot of help from the Help line and all is well now.
