Upgrading Enterprise version and licensing question

Hi everyone,

I want have to upgrade an existing Alfresco Enterprise to version 7. I already did it in a dockerized enviroment and everything looked good. The only thing is that I did with Community instalations, and now I have to do it with an installed 4.2 version, already licensed and activated.

My question is; ¿how do i keep using the license, how does that licensing process actually works, how do i keep using the enterprise edition? Because my first thought was upgrade 4.2 enterprise to 5.2 community, and from there upgrade to community v7,and then figure out the licensing/enterprise issue.

Thanks in advance Smiley Happy

Hi,

every minor ACS version has it's own license. From the Hyland community portal you can request all the licenses for the versions you need.

BTW, pay attention that if you start from an Enterprise version you can't use a Community version "in the middle" of the upgrade journey, as the only supported paths are from Enterprise to Enterprise or from Community to Enterprise.

Hope this helps.
