Claiming a Task

Does Activiti require a user to be defined in their identity schema before you can claim a task?

I guess what I'm asking is, if I try to claim a task, for a user that isn't defined within activiti's user tables will it result in an error condition.

Thanks,
Pneu

p.s. Yes, I will try to set this scenario up, but don't currently have a running version of activiti available.  Hoping I can get a quick response from the forum.

I think I answered my own question.

Looking at the code, claiming a task just sets the assignee and will throw an exception if there is already an assignee on the task.

Correct. Identity tables are not required to be populated with users
