I see that Alfresco is using Lucene for document search, I've a requirement where I want to search the citations (generally they are present as the footnotes in word documents), can the search feature perform citation search?
Word documents are converted to plain text by Alfresco and indexed by Lucene. So depending on how the text conversion is done, it may me possible to search through citations. You can do a quick test to check this. I don't know off the top of my head if it does this or not.
