CIFS not working in alfresco 2.0 ?

Hi,
I've enable CIFS by installing loopback adaptor and configuring the server like this :

It worked well in Alfresco 1.4, but now I've just been upgrading to 2.0 and it doesn't work anymore. Neither via the LAN where I have the "An extended error occured" nor the web interface.
Anyone encountered the same problem, or are there any changes to do in 2.0 ?

Hello,

I'm also looking for a solution in order to make CIFS work with the 2.0 version.

The host XXXX_A is known in the workgroup but isn't mapable.

If I try to force the recognition by entering \\XXXX_A\alfresco and specifying admin/admin as the user (or another existing) it doesn't succeed.

Has someone any idea about what is missing?

Hum, It was very helpfull for me to post last message as the next try succeded.

The thing I changed was only to write \\XXXX_A\Alfresco with a upper case 'A' in Alfresco.

Another thing : It doesn't connect with the admin user but it connects with a created user.

The thing is that the CIFS path isn't even found.
Have you been trying to configure LDAP or NTLM ? I've been messing around some files to make LDAP work but since, CIFS didn't work anymore in 1.4 even if I put back the original files.
The problem might be linked to the fact that Alfresco is logging you with your windows login name and not with admin.

Try refreshing your network-adapter, this gives you a 'clean' login-prompt to the mapped drive ie shared resource and thus removes evt. false earlier entries blocking you. Found this out whilst experiencing errors when moving pc in stand-by from home to office and back. Data is somehow cached and cleaned after disable/enable network-adapter.
Don't know if it helps but it worked for me.

if I try to click on the icon on the web interface, a warning pops "the path does not exist or is not a directory", if I run it via windows, I get a "An extended error has occurred" and if I type the path in windows explorer I get a "Windows cannot find…Check the spelling and try again, or try searching for the item by clicking the Start button and then clicking Search"

in the command prompt, when I type nbtstat -n I can see that the domain and workgroup are well registered.
I've assigned an IP adress to the loopback adapter manually (not via DHCP).
Well I can't understand why this worked under 1.4 and not under 2.0.

I am constantly battling the mapping of the alfresco drive. 

The only way I can get it working using Windows is by clicking on the Connect using a different user name.  When this doesn't work (sometimes) I log off and log-on which is resetting the login info explained above. 

This works even though I am on a different "Workgroup" and "domain" as the server for which I am connecting to Alfresco.  A bit cumbersome, but I think it is a Windows thing.
