Hi all

We have the Alfresco 2.9c version installed in our server (built in March 2008) and we have tried today to use CIFS in a Single Tenant Configuration. We try to map the network drive with
 \\pcnamea\Alfresco\SpaceName
and when we get asked by the login and password we use the admin-admin user (default admin user).

We get an error message saying that no connection can be stablished

We have also tried with
 \\localhosta\Alfresco\SpaceName
but get the same error.

We know that in previous versions the right path was
 \\pcname_a\Alfresco\SpaceName
but I have readed in some other posts and in the 2.9 Documentation that in this version should be
 \\pcnamea\Alfresco\SpaceName

Could anyone help us please?

Cheers

I have found a bug about this topic (AR-2231) and they say that it is solved. There is a nightly built with this solution? Is this solution in head or in instalable? I have the alfresco version 2.9C and nightly built of 23 april.

If this solution is not available, can someone say to me that it is necessary to modify?

It seems that the problem is there with Vista SP1. Previous vista was OK (it worked for me) and I can confirm that after upgrading to vista SP1 it stopped working and showed the behavior of not accepting any user/password when trying to attach a hard drive for CIFS access.

Thanks M$!!! Grrrrr!

Hope that Alfresco finds a solution quick Smiley Happy (it seems to happens with both 2.9 and 3.0)

I´ve found a solution. Just uninstalling Windows Vista SP1:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948537/en-us

all according MS "neolingua":

After you install Windows Vista SP1, you may notice that a hardware device or an installed program works differently. Therefore, you may want to uninstall Windows Vista SP1 as a troubleshooting step.

Did it and everything works as expected. Good.

JUST SAY NO TO VISTA SP1!
