CIFS, JAAS, Ldap, and synchronization of users/groups

Hi I am starting to use passthrough authentication with AD, I am doing this by using JAAS. All works nice …
I create users on Windows Machine and them on Alfresco we login using this users, all is working ok.

When i need to establish some workflow or permissions, the system could not retrieve the users and groups from AD. Do i need to synchronize via LDAP AD and Alfresco to do this ??

From my point of view, if you want to use assthrough authentication is mandatory to make synchronization ?

Hi

If you want to be able to list all users then synchronisation is required.
