Hi,
To give a short update on my tests, let me inform you that I managed to map the Alfresco repository onto a drive of my W2K laptop. And, surprise, surprise: I can smbmount the repository onto a directory on my linux box.
Now, how did I do that?
I don't know.
I executed exactly the same commands in exactly the same sequence today. The only difference may have been that when I logged on to my account and started the Alfresco server, my laptop had not received an IP address. Could this have fooled the network implementation into the (un)expected behaviour?
W2K really behaves rather strange as a networked machine. When the system is not connected, you cannot map a network drive that is available on the local machine. On the other hand, you can browse pages that are served by a webserver on the local machine. Isn't that contradictory behaviour?
