changing password for user brings error

i am the admin, when i try to change a password for a user, i get the following error:

Failed to update the details for user: 00070079 Wrapped Exception (with status template): 00070078 Failed to execute script '/org/alfresco/repository/person/person.put.json.js (in classpath store file:C:/Alfresco/tomcat/webapps/protean/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/templates/webscripts)': Duplicate child name not allowed: 89be7ab5-6172-435f-819f-3482dcd5e98b.

what could be the issue?
