Currently I am evaluting Alfresco 3.0 and I wanted to know how can i see the category list on Alfresco share UI.  I have added some category to the documents on the document libray but on the share UI am not able to see it.

Can anyone help me , how can we manage category on Share UI?

Many Thanks

The tagging feature isn't good enough?

Hi,

I have also tried adding some tags to the document.  But the document library does not reflect those tags on share UI.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

I have added the tags through "alfresco UI" (http://localhost:8080/alfresco) going into "sites/test/documentlibrary".

Thanks

I'm guessing you didn't spot the

Who's Mikie?

Tags are an implementation of Categories, so you can consider them in the same way; it's just that they're not quite so formal as they can be added by any user.

"Old style" Categories aren't implemented or visible in the current Share client.

Thanks,

Hi Mike,

Ohh sorry ..it was my mistake Smiley Happy

But can i assign hierarchical tags to a document as i used to do with Categories.  As for example how can i assign a document with tag as a tree structure like Asia/South Asia/India ?

Thanks
Kayan

Short answer is that you don't.

Tags are, I think, more useful like that. Depending on your requirements, you'd tag a document with Asia, South_Asia* and India - or just India.
