We are in process of setting up alfresco. The server is up and is online. Now i want to setup LDAP. I have seen several topics on LDAP and I have followed a few to the point but still cannot login with AD login. After that I converted my alfresco-global.properties back to default and NOW i cannot login with Admin. Can anyone help me with this?

It's a bit hard to know what state you're in but a couple of things that might help.
You should check the value of the authentication.chain property - try alfrescoNtlm:alfrescoNtlm,ldap1,ldap-ad
You can set the property ldap.authentication.defaultAdministratorUserNames in alfresco-global.properties to the name of your ldap user that you want to be an admin
I assume you've been looking at Configuring LDAP | Alfresco Documentation
If you're only just starting out it might be easiest to reinstall

My issue with not logging is was discovered yesterday. When I did a restart of the alfresco service i noticed that the postgresql was not starting. I worked on that for a few minutes and just decided that it was easier for me to reinstall. After the reinstall i followed this tutorial Alfresco 5.0 & LDAP and I was able to get my ldap some what configured. It authenticate but does not pull in the users attributes. Working on that issue now.
Thanks for the reply!

Hi,
You can use "synchronization.syncOnStartup" to make a sync when Alfresco start.
For more detail on how to setup synchronization you can look at Configuring synchronization | Alfresco Documentation
