Can't Log In After Community Edition Install?

I installed the community edition. When it asked me for an admin password, I entered admin. When I go to log in with admin/admin, I get "Unable to login - unknown username/password." I uninstalled and tried it again with adm1n. Logging in with admin/adm1n gave me the same error. Is there a way to find the correct user name and password, or why can't I log in?

Admin/admin is the correct uesrname and password. Check the Alfresco log file "alfresco.log" to ensure that it started up correctly with no issues.

for installation via GUI, you should have been asked for the admin password during installation, i think it shouldn't be admin:admin if you have typed something

If installed via the GUI, just remove (or comment) the admin password hash from
{alfresco_folder}/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties
and the login should be back to admin/admin

I have the same problem…
I tried uninstall - dropdatabase - drop all files from my install /opt/Alfresco installing again and the same problem…
The wierd is if i try to login to localhost:8081/alfresco the admin/admin works! but in localhost:8081/share the login with admin/admin fail, get a error message: Failed to login. The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized.

also tried the boutch55555 tip….

It's too bad that no one was able to reply with a solution in 1 1/2 months.  I am having the same problem with a fresh install of v3.3.  I have tried the tricks noted in this thread but I still get the unfortunately familiar response that I'm unable to log in.

What's the *exact* problem you're getting? Have you moved the /alfresco webapp from it's default port 8080? Are you trying to log-in to Share or Explorer?

We do try to help, but also need enough details to know where to begin!

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue. Does anybody then know the solution to be able to log in?

I re-installed, and commented the pwd hash from alfresco-global.properties but with no luck at all.

thanks
