can i put validations in RSS template

Hi,
I am exploring on RSS feed. My problem is whenever i am uploading content in a space my rss reader is picking up that one and displaying ….But i want to block some content types (ppt,doc,txt)..I mean i can i do any validations in my Template for that..
          Plz help me regarding this,,,
  One more thing is —Is alfresco provided any template not particular to spaces , for all over alfresco webclient..Whenever i upload content in any space i want it in my reader without uploading the template in all spaces..

You can do most operations in a template, so a conditional statement like this will filter by mimetype:

<#if child.mimetype = "text/plain">
…
</#if>

You can perform any query you like in your template - it doesn't have to be current 'space' related - you can execute a global lucene query across the whole repo and work on those results.
