I've read this 2013 post and this 2014 post regarding the connection of the business key between a call activiti and a calling process.
Frederik gave the answer in this 2012 post but IMHO there still are lot of possibilities, e. g. inherit the business key to a call activiti within a process that has already defined such business key or to define a call activiti business key from an existing process variable.
