Branding

Not applicable
We are looking to use Alfresco Cloud as a client portal and would prefer to see less Alfresco branding and to have more of our own business branding, especially on the login page.

Client concerns still exists about the privacy and controls over their information and the Alfresco branding and Alfresco URL for our Portal will add more concerns than alleviate.

While we would be proud to acknowledge our use of Alfresco, ideally our client portal would be "powered by Alfresco" and under our domain URL (similar to how Google Apps work).

There is branding available if you upgrade, we have a selection of out the box themes and you can upload your own logo, the same as Google Apps. Please visit our Upgrade page to enable this feature on your Network: http://www.alfresco.com/products/cloud/upgrade

If you need more branding than that, you will need to build a custom solution on top of our Cloud APIs that have your own UIs. You can sign up to use our Cloud APIs here: https://www.alfresco.com/develop

Thanks for your reply. I have already upgraded and finding Alfresco Cloud to be great generally but still want to be able to brand it more for our clients.

Uploading our company logo still doesn't change the login screen. How will the clients know they are logging into my company portal and not Alfresco? What is Alfresco to them? How will they know that Alfresco is not a phishing scam to get their login details?

I appreciate that Alfresco wants to promote itself to all users but external users need to be given comfort that they are in the right login when directed by a particular company. Having my company branding at the login screen will give my clients some comfort.

Requiring paying users of Alfresco Cloud to implement custom solutions using the Cloud API really limits the service when we are trying to move away from existing on premises systems and their associated support costs and issues.

I get the feeling that Alfresco Cloud is not designed or expected to be used standalone but rather as the back-end to another system or just as a way to access an on-premise Alfresco install.
