Bi-directionnal replication

Hi all,

Do you know a way to set up an active-active architecture with two alfresco servers using replication ?
Is the replica marked as read-only ?
Is there any solution to perform a bi-directional replication ?

Thanks,
Vincent

Out of the box alfresco does not support bi-directional replication and by default replicated contents are marked as read-only (i.e.locked) on target server.

Thanks for your reply.
When you say "Out of the box", does it means that there is way to configure it to do what we expect ?

thanks

Here comes my question:

Can we deploy two sets of alfresco/share applications, but they share one database & repository?

Thanks!

In Alfresco, out Of the box Bi - Directional Replication is not possible and by configuration we can do replication in one direction.
Please refer the link http://www.cignex.com/articles/replicating-content-between-geographically-distributed-servers-using-...
It may help you.

Thanks.
I made one way replication working for Share sites, but user permissions have not been replicated.
It this by design ? Any solution to replication user permissions ?

Thanks,
Vincent

It is out of the box behavior.May be you need to customize it.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
I'll update permissions manually.
BTW, the target repository does not seems to be read-only.
I don't find out how to do this. Any idea ?

Thanks,
Vincent

Hi, I found out how to make target repository writeable (it's read only by default), see here: http://tech-pristine-crap.blogspot.ru/2013/01/alfresco-replication-howto.html
if you set replication.transfer.readonly=false in alfresco-global.properties, it's writable after next replication.
Also, I found if you have custom models you just copy those models to target server, and replication will go successfully.
But so far I couldn't make bi-directional replication, when I try replicate back what I have replicated here, I have a mistake: transfer blocked for another incoming transfer.
