I downloaded the preview of 2.0 (with WCM) on Friday from sourceforge.  I didn't see a link from the alfresco page, so I just did a search on sourceforge.

Is this then considered an "official" beta release, or should I wait for it to be available on alfresco.com before proceeding?

Also, I know this will be a significant improvement from the Preview release. Will there be a different or updated tutorial for Web Projects or the more integrated workflow management?

I don't work for alfresco, so I couldn't tell you about that.  You might want to look at another thread I posted about the tutorial…

I checked sourceforge, and noticed a document called WCM_BETA_Eval_Guide.pdf posted. When I tried to download it and open it, it says it's corrupt. I am on linux using acroread.

Anyone else able to open this file?

From what we understand, the community version install files have been uploaded to the SourceForge site while the enterprise version install files will be coming by the end of the week… my team has been able to download and install the community version beta release.

I'm not completely sure what differences will exist between community and enterprise, but I'm guessing the codebase will be largely the same.

The 2.0 Preview posted Friday is indeed the WCM BETA release.  A few days late (packaging issues on Linux), but we're excited to have it out.  Have a look at the new tutorial, and have a go!

The Community Preview and Enterprise version are largely the same codebase.  The difference is the Alfresco Community icon at the bottom of each page and the disclaimer, "Supplied free of charge with no support, no certification, no maintenance, no warranty and no indemnity by Alfresco or its Certified Partners. Click here for support. Alfresco Software Inc. © 2005-2006 All rights reserved".

The Enterprise version are for prospects looking to formally eval the release with support from our sales team.  The bundles currently available for download and test are functionally equivalent (we are 100% open source).

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Cheers.
