I am using 4.0.d community edition.

After cold backup mysql database and alf_data folder.  I just wonder, shouldn't we ALSO backup configure files in tomcat directory?

There are so many configure chanage. If we don't backup those, we must do it all over again when restore.

Anyone conside this situation and have a solution? what do you do ??   or I am wrong ?

Thanks so much.

Many people store their configuration and their extensions/customizations in source code control and I would certainly recommend that as a best practice. Part of the restore procedure is to grab the configuration and extensions/customizations from source code and then re-apply them to the Alfresco and Share WARs.

If you don't use source code control at least back those files up like you would any other.
