Availability of Search in WCM

Hi,

I have got a search working for WCM content, but it only seems to work in a live sandbox - i.e. after I have done a deploy.

Is this the expected behaviour. Will the search not work in user sandboxes or in the staging sandbox.

I have seen on the wiki that the indexing is done on an AVM snapshot - doesn't that mean that it should be available for a snapshot in the staging sandbox?

As of 2.1, indexing of web content does not occur in user sandboxes, although it should be occurring once content is pushed to the staging sandbox (regardless of whether it's been deployed).

Just out of interest which version of Alfresco are you running on?  The various 2.1 variations (2.1 community beta, 2.1 community final and 2.1 enterprise beta) have slightly different default configurations for web content indexing.

Hi,

I am running 2.1 community final.

The content is indexed in the sandbox, although it takes a while to build the index. I am some 3500 xml documents, and I think this may happen asynchrnously in some instances.

Do you know what options are available for indexing? I have seen the options in the custom data model - are there some more?

Only the staging area is available for lucene search at the moment.

We managed to disable the asynchronous indexing to resolve our issue.
