attaching content to email notifications?

Is there a way to attach the content of a space to a notification email generated by a rule on a space?

I want to move content out of Alfresco, not just point to it or move it to another space inside of Alfresco.

No. You would need to write a custom Alfresco Action action to do this. You'll need the Alfresco SDK and the wiki page on Actions.
