API to change space permissions using webscript

Hi All,

I want to change access permission of any folder/file in alfresco using WebScripts.
I dont want admin to go to "Administration Consols" and chnage permissions rather want to provide wrapper to do that. Also i want to change permission of a file once it is moved to a "locked" folder.


Are there any existing webscript/API to do that ?

I am using alfresco 4.2.c .
but all i found about this is quite historic.
