Alfresco with Email Collector?

Hi Everyone,

I'm very new to Alfresco, but gladly not new to SMTP / Mail servers.
I've been asked to configure our new Alfresco started (Enterprise): Current version 3.0.1, installation, to work with Email Collector ref: http://forge.alfresco.com/projects/emailcollector.

The current config:
Centos 5.2 (32bit)
Alfresco Email server configured on localhost:25 & 192.168.4.2:25
Postfix: localhost:6600 (higher port so that it doesn't clash with Alfresco)


Q1) When this is working, how is it going to benefit the user? will it be configured as a "site", a "space" or a "node" perhaps?
Q2) With the Alfresco Email Server turned on, will Alfresco be able to literally work like  EMAIL server, store mail in Maildir (or it's own format), can people read their email etc??
Q3) Is the EmailCollector meant to be pulling in all email from a mail server (via POP3/DOVECOT) and then store it for each user to see?

NOTE: at the moment having followed all the documentation, we have been able to get the Email Collector configured and turn on the SMTP server. Below is the current error in the catalina.out log fine.

You need to contact the project author directly - they might not follow the forums. Forge projects are not supported by Alfresco as they are third party contributions.
